zero quality control (ZQC)
Quality practices aimed at achieving zero defects and therefore eliminating the need for ad-hoc control. It is based on the recognition that people will make mistake and the principle that defects can be prevented by controlling the performance of a process (preventing any mistake from becoming an defect), e.g., using techniques such as mistakeproofing aka. poka yoke).
